Olympic Forest – Tree plantation Campaign
As part of the Olympic Forest program of Kerala Olympic Association, Alappuzha District Olympic Association organized Tree plantation Campaigns in various Schools in the district.
As part of the Olympic Day celebrations, the Alappuzha District Kabaddi Association organized a Kabaddi Tournament on 21 June at the Recreation Ground. The event was inaugurated by Adv. Kurian James, President of the Olympic Association. Sri Toji, Secretary of the City (Municipal) Olympic Association, presided over the function. Viji Vishnu attended the programme as the Chief Guest.
As part of the Olympic Day celebrations, a tree plantation drive was organized at Pathiyoor Panchayat High School. The event was jointly organized by the Alappuzha District Hockey Association and Pathiyoor Panchayat High School. The programme also featured boys' and girls' hockey exhibition matches, showcasing the skills and enthusiasm of the young players.
As part of the Olympic Day celebrations, a Quiz Competition was organized for students at St. Mary's School. Tree plantation activities were also carried out on the school campus as part of the programme, promoting environmental awareness alongside the Olympic values.
Olympic Day Run
On 23 June 2026, in connection with the International Olympic Day celebrations, the Alappuzha District Olympic Association organized an Olympic Day Run. The event brought together students from schools, differently-abled children, Sports Council trainees, and college students from across Alappuzha district. The Olympic Day Run was flagged off by Shri Shaji V. Nair, IAS, District Collector of Alappuzha. More than 1,500 participants from various schools and colleges took part in the run, demonstrating their enthusiasm for sports and the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.
